new prj: LrcView extension

Since i wanted a lyrics viewer for VLC that badly i ended up learning a bit lua and writing my own extension.

It is still a bit buggy and will be improved slowly.

I've also added an entry in the official VLC addon site, so hopefully will get some help to fix the bugs.

how to map emulation functions to old gamepads

solution1: use a joy-2-key mapper like Xpadder or AntiMicro

 this is the best choice if your gamepad has many unused buttons.

solution2: use a shift key on the pad (actually supported only by Retroarch, see also this request here )

In your retroarch cfg file add these lines:

 # rewind and fastforward with combos (start+left/right)
input_enable_hotkey = enter
input_hold_fast_forward = right
input_rewind = left

solution3: attach a small IR remote to your gamepad (sample photo)

If your gamepad has only a few fire buttons (like the Sega Master System pad) you cannnot use any of them as a shift key. To add some buttons without modding the gamepad i've found these small IR remotes handy. Combined with a generic MCE IR receiver, you can map the remote buttons to keyboard keys using programs like EventGhost or ir-keytable.

gambatte-libretro wth color palettes

I've just committed GBC BIOS palettes support to my gambatte-libretro fork!

Per-game custom palettes has already been merged into the master repo a few days ago.

To make the new feature more useful, i've also written a goomba2gambatte palette converter in python (based off kuwanger's txt2pal.py).

Download and enjoy!

new CLI tool: pec2epsxe

A quick'n'dirty converter in python for the PEC codelist.inf to the new epsxe 1.8 cheat format:
(currently cheats comments are removed.)

EDIT: after some tests i reccomend using the old PEC plugin since the new epsxe cheat feature has many limitations.

command-line MESS launcher

For the command line warriors here it is a MESS frontend (both in Windows and Linux' shell sauce) that will let you launch the emulator without remembering its criptic internal system and device names.
Download from the cmdline-tools project page.
